Sally McBean

Sally believes that great design of places and spaces enrich communities and enable people and businesses to thrive. She likes to change the “ordinary and every day” into an enriching and beautiful experience by weaving human centric design through all stages of a project to create real and relevant places for communities.

Places have been traditionally physical and increasingly, digital is equally relevant. We aim to enable a seamless experience across all platforms so businesses have a consistent message and customers and communities have wonderful experiences.

Sally has  a proven track record over 25 years of inspiring, collaborating, developing and leading multiple diverse project teams and stakeholders through the strategic vision setting, concept design, development and delivery of complex retail and hospitality developments across Australia and New Zealand for Scentre Group (Owner and Operator of Westfield Group in Australia and New Zealand).

She has been an influential innovator and thought leader across large asset portfolios re-imagining and re-defining food, fashion, hospitality and lifestyle sectors within Westfield’s emerging ‘Living Centres’ throughout Australia and New Zealand. Sally has been able to identify future trends, and combine ‘Design Thinking’ capability with customer data and insights, helping leaders and organisations identify the right strategy to deliver outstanding results.

Sally leads teams supportively with grace, integrity and passion, has excellent presentation and communication skills and build strong relationships. She believes art, good design and beautiful environments are essential to the human experience and weaves art generously through places and spaces collaborating with art consultants, landscape architects and designers to create environments that not only enrich experience, resonate with communities, attract customers and also substantially increase revenue for all stakeholders.

Sally believes collaboration, adaptability and diversity of ideas, thoughts and skills is how we create environments that will remain relevant in the future for our communities to thrive, stay healthy and grow.
